Homemade Laudry Soap

TIPS FOR LAUNDRY SOAP: We use Fels-Naptha bar soap in the homemade soap recipes, but you can use Ivory, Sunlight, Kirk's Hardwater Castile or Zote bars. Don't use heavily perfumed soaps. We buy Fels-Naptha by the case from our local grocer or online. Washing Soda and Borax can normally be found on the laundry or cleaning aisle. Recipe cost approx. $2.

Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap- Front or top load machine- best value
4 Cups hot tap water1 Fels-Naptha soap bar
1 Cup Washing Soda
½ Cup Borax

Tools needed;
Food Grater. I used a potato peeler since it was all I had, but it took a lot longer. I would reccomend NOT using whatever you decide to use for food after you use it with the soap!
Sauce pan. I used one that we used for food, and it worked Ok. You don't necessarily need a separate one, just scrub it well before you cook something with it.
5 Gallon Bucket.
Laundry Soap Dispenser, or Gallon Jug. I used both, since that was what I had around.

- Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with water. Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.

-Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with more hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.

-Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (will gel)

-Optional: You can add 10-15 drops of essential oil per 2 gallons. Add once soap has cooled. Ideas: lavender, rosemary, tea tree oil.

-Yield: Liquid soap recipe makes 10 gallons.
-Top Load Machine- 5/8 Cup per load (Approx. 180 loads)
-Front Load Machines- ¼ Cup per load (Approx. 640 loads)

A Virtuous Woman~Introduction

Lesson 1. Who is the Virtuous Woman?

As most of you know, the story of the Virtuous Woman is found in Proverbs 31.

“Who can find a Virtuous Woman? for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
She is like the merchants ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
She riseth up while is it yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
She considereth a field and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
She girdeth her loins with strength and strengtheneth her arms.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her house: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
She maketh fine linen and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”

As you see by reading the first verse, a Virtuous Woman is hard to find. That is why I want more than ever to strive to be one. To be one takes a lot of hard work, both in becoming one, and continuing to be one. The work, though tedious, will be greatly rewarded in the end. You will give your future husband the greatest gift ever, by preparing yourselves for them.

“Her price is far above rubies.”

She is someone hard to find! She is greatly valued. Men are searching for women like this, but they are just so hard to find, many of them give up, and take someone less valuable.
I want to be a Virtuous woman, because I want to serve my future husband. I want to give him the value that he is looking for, because if I am not one, he has fallen for something of less value! That is why I am trying to become a whole Virtuous Woman, not just part of one!

The word Virtuous means; having or showing moral goodness or righteousness,

Virtue~ The quality of being morally good, or righteous. A particular quality that is morally good. A particular quality that is good or admirable but not necessarily in terms of morality.

God has given us almost a whole chapter describing the woman we need to be. You probably are very familiar with Proverbs 31.

PROJECT 1.
Part 1. First write down every quality you think a Lady should have. Think of the ladies you see around you, write down every character quality that you can think of that you wish to someday be.

Part 2.
Next look up each word in a dictionary. Some may be more than one word, so write down your own
definition of these.

Part 3.
Now look for a verse that will support, and encourage you to do each of these character traits.
Patient~ able to endure waiting or delay without becoming annoyed or upset, or to persevere calmly when faced with difficulties. Able to wait without complaint. Not easily angered.
“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,” 2 Timothy 2:24

Easily intreated~ Able to listen to wise counsel. Able to listen when you are doing wrong.
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” James 3:17

Kind~ having a generous, warm, compassionate nature.
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:32

Gentle~ having a mild or kind nature or manner, being moderate in force or degree so that the effects are not severe, using little force or violence.
“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,” 2 Timothy 2:24

Forgiving~ willing to forgive especially in most circumstances.“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32

Brave~ having or showing courage especially when facing danger, difficulty or pain.
Sensitive to others.
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9
Completely given to God~ There isn’t a real definition for this, but it means what it says!
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15

Prayerful~ liking to pray or praying frequently.
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16

Longsuffering~ patient and enduring in the face of suffering or difficulty.
“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;” Colossians 3:12

Quiet~ making little or no noise, free from trouble or disturbance, relaxing, peaceful, not grand, or showy, displaying calmness and self-control.
“But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” 1 Peter 3:4

Peaceful~ quiet, calm, tranquil, serene and untroubled in the mind.
“Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.” Romans 14:19
Humble~ modest and unassuming in attitude and behavior
“And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.” Matthew 23:12

Chaste~ behaving in a pure way, plain and simple
“To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”
Titus 2:5
